Year 1 and 2 Spellings

This half term the teachers have been having a real focus on reading as this is the area many of our children have been struggling with. Spellings will start coming home again after the holidays. Your child will bring home spellings to learn each Friday. Rather than have a spelling test, the teachers will check to see if the children are spelling these words correctly in their writing. Many of our children spell the words correctly for the ‘test’ but not so in their own work. Your child’s class teacher will set your child’s spellings rather than the person who takes them for their Letters and Sounds work.  If you want any more information about spellings please just ask your child’s teacher.
